    WHBC is the student run campus radio station located on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. WHBC was founded in 1974 and is a subsidiary of the Howard University Radio, Television, and Film Department in the John H. Johnson School of Communications. WHBC targets over 10,500 students ages 18-34. WHBC receives guidance from its parent station, WHUR- 96.3 FM. WHBC operates seven days a week broadcasting on Channel 51 of the University’s residential TV network (Res Net).

    WHBC 830 AM is one of the most renowned and advanced college radio stations in the country and has won several awards and honors including General manager of the year and Most Community Involvement at the Black College Radio Conference.

    WHBC serves as a training ground for several radio industry professionals and continues to remain cutting edge in college radio.
